Ratan Tata : INSPIRATION

In our childhood, we used to speak about phones. Phone was not only a luxury item for we at home but was a lavished style of one who is having a phone at his home.
I all the way walk on my foot barefooted a mile or two to see the phone newly fitted in my aunts house at Mahal on those days when we in our circles at CHABUTARA use to talk about Ratan Tata. ___Do you know he has got a phone line at his washroom my friend use to say. In his latrine also he has got a phone connection …
said one from our group … definately the elder one used to say so confidently that we the younger one had has no our vision to look at it differently, that the otherwayay
Because one who told us was seniour one amongst us. And he use to say so confidently that no one will have his words other than to listen it.
We may be not so curious in our classroom if a teacher is there to tell us something but here the CHAUKADI was our schools to lern gossips.
Tata-BIRLA was the iconic words for us and if Ambassor or Ford car we crossed while on way. I used to put a question mark on myself that either they have a another brands or might the chassis maker man embedded with his name. You see the Tata Truck my friend once said and yes TATA motors are like the GAJRAJ in automobiles, I agreed with.
To see TATA or Birla icons in person was not an easy but more than impossible it was to me. Firstly, there was no money in my pocket nor any relations with a man of that statues to whom I might have had put my desire to see his photo either. We the boys were having two sources to see the photo of anybody and it was either films or in newspapers. At that time fast printing was to be made on LINO Printing Machine. It was little better than the TREADLE machine of one phase electric power … treadle machine using the cast iron types until it damaged or print is not correct but using LINO MACHINE PRINTING was with the advantages of making new types casting and you will get the new type itself for printing from the attached furnace in LONO MACHINE. Photo used to be called as Block Maker Photo. Very correct word BLOCK because photo tones used to blocked either by ink or damaged in (dots in multiple which makes the photo sharpness) handling.
Ratan Tata was little ahead in our generation and was too dear to us. As a young RATAN TATA’S photo some one brought to see on our CHAUKADI and the newspaper was torn without looking at it aur … KISIKA DEKHAKAR “DIL BHARA NAHI” song then one shouted.
I saw RATAN TATA JEE at CHITRAKOOT in 1998 when I was there in one of the doctors meet arranged by the Ex- MP and RSS STALWARTS Late NANAJI DESHMUKH . My class teacher Late Mrs. Malti Damle was then the Vice President of an organisation DINADAYAL SANTHAN, a BAL JAGAT TRUST for upliftments of the children activities from sweeming to sangeet. And she was one of the active member in NANAJI DESHMUKH’S team. She asked me to come to CHITRAKOOT along with her and we both from Nagpur Station catched the morning train , reached at SATNA. To my surprise station master made an announcement of our arrival. It make me, still feel happy … it was an announcement for me as SUSHREE PATRKAR SHARAD BORKAR KA SAHARSHA SWAGAT HAI.
Second day after a Night hault in we reached CHITRAKOOT. The next day we all gathered there at Chitrakoot Kuti of Late Nanajee Deshmukh. There were big personalities and were Leaders from UP & Madhya Pradesh states as well. Including Mrs. Mayawati, Governors of both the states, Doctors and businessmen those were working and having their research in organic cultivation. It had attended by scholars, doctors, politicians, states & Central govts. officers and businessmen. AMONGST it was RATAN TATA.
I saw him first time not in print but in person. Presences were there of two persons came by plane to attend function at CHITRAKOOT were Mr. Mundle from Nagpur and Mr. Ratan Tata from me from galax. I, dare not to ask him or anybody personally where from he had landed.
I saw him in casual dress with shirting. Not fully sleeped his shirt in his full pant. The dress atire was very much available in the Fort area of Mumbai, to any body, in a poor budgeting, I, guessed. His shirt was pressed but might have shirt creeses disappeared and shirt shirting disturbed on the plane or may be while sitting in a car.
Standing in row as there were many dignitaries giving their wishes and hopefully as a big business of farming of
Generic farming. My eyes were on RATAN TATA. His simple dress was of witin my reach in money, suitably in colours of my liking a faint simple natural colour .. . I loved and my late mothers choice it was, colours choice of mothers liking, which I, inherited too.
I remembered then comments from our CHOUKADI, boyes in the GALLI-OTA of our Mohalla and big vehicle’s structure of TATA-TRUCK, definately armored with great vision beyond our vision, even if we graduated, post- graduated, Ph.D., scholars and scientist we are now with the free corporation running schools education or we are the boyes from the CONVENTS SCHOOLS, without values of lessons, we have. Definately his dress must be costly one purchase from the TATA MILL SHOP and not from the streets, I conveyed with the tags, lingered in me.
Rembering, PADMABHUSHAN Ratan Tata Jee … a day of his sorrowful Demise, where we all have to … but yes remberering him, his policies and way of life even not less than a KING he was like a KING RAM. We have had gone through our TEXT BOOKS about Ram… yes it will add the lessons from the character of Ratan Tata ji in coming days the texts of his empires to know for its business value, dignity and reputation for ever to coming generations, years after years and decades after decades.
